I'm gonna miss this guy.....

My Grandpa Sayers passed away yesterday and it was a little unexpected. He had triple by-pass surgery the week before and the surgery was a success and he was recovering and scheduled to come home on Sunday. But early Sunday morning his heart started to have trouble and he went downhill quickly from there.
The good news is...
Grandpa knew the way to Jesus.
His poor health wasn't drawn out and anyone who knew Grandpa knows this was a mercy, he wouldn't have been a happy man confined to a bed or chair.
I've been able to spend some time with him in the last few months because I've taken my kids up to visit on many a Thursday afternoon and Grandpa & I had a chance to sit and chat. My kids became very aquainted with Great-Grandma & Grandpa Sayers....and their house....with its stairs... :)
I'm thankful to have good memories of my Grandpa and I'm thankful I had the privilege of being with him and the family in his last moments. We were around his bed singing hymns while he went to be with the Lord.

Today his obituary was posted in the Midland Daily News. Click here to see it.

We appreciate your prayers during this time of adjustment and decision-making.

Jess, Scotrick, and Little Ones;
Please know my heart and prayers are with you all. I understand the sorrow and the "missing" of the beloved... keep remembering the Promise of our Beloved to His own, expressed so fully in AP's words:
... There is MORE.../More than we can stand/Standing in the glory/ Of a love that never ends/ There is more/ More than we can guess/ More and more, forever more/ And not a second less...There is MORE!
Much love,
Colleen
