Oh, the many uses of a flat head screwdriver. One could think of so many things to do with it. But I will warn you. Be very cautious as you pick up the small item to turn, pry or poke whatever it is you think it may be useful for. For lurking behind that unassuming exterior lies a more devious, may I even suggest, more deadly side to the most basic of tools found in every toolbox. Okay, deadly may be a bit strong but you get my point...
What may start out as a routine fixer-upper-I'll-get-the-job-done-and-use-my-handy-dandy-screwdriver job may land you with a trip to the ER and a hand that looks like this......

Looks like a fairly small puncture wound on this side but the thing
almost went through his whole hand. This side stopped bleeding fairly quickly....

But all the blood pooled up on the backside of his hand causing the majority of the concern. These photos were taken after his arm was in the splint for 5 days. We have had great news from the doctors...he couldn't have aimed any better. Missed every bone, ligament, and nerve apparently. We are singing praises to the Lord and thankful for His mercy in watching over Scot.

We have seemed to be able to keep infection at bay and we are waiting for a follow up visit with the hand specialist this Thursday. We are praying for more good news like...you can go back to work now...
