I am going to do something yet unseen on our family blog.....and actually do just what a blog's intended for. Write...my very own personal thoughts. Why? you might ask. I've been looking around at other people's and find I enjoy it.
I love being inspired. That great feeling that makes you want to do or be something you otherwise didn't have the idea or energy to do. I find I'm very inspired by photos. It is AMAZING what can be captured and displayed so appealingly in a small rectangular confined space. THANK YOU to all of you out there who have the visual creativity to understand how to capture all those lovely sights I do so enjoy.
I'm a bit of a country vintage girl at heart and while I don't currently collect anything, there is one very appealing weakness and interest I have that could become a hobby/collection of some sort. I love aprons. Yes, you heard it right....aprons. They seem to float my boat and beckon me to wear and own . It could be because my grandma always wears an apron. In fact she made my first apron for me at my request - love that grandma! I stumbled across this book and author and am so excited for some new found inspiration. I am compelled to make my own apron now but have a small setback. My sewing machine isn't working right - something is wrong with the bobbin stitching. My husband told me tonight he's pretty sure he can fix it (giggle). That makes me nervous because there is a story about that in my family. My mother once had a sewing machine. As machines do, it stopped working properly. My dad decided he could fix it. The operation began....the sewing machine was torn apart. So the story goes, I don't think it ever made it back together. I really don't want to repeat history here.

GO Scotty!! I have great faith that he can do it :) Unlike Mom's sewing machine which I am pretty sure landed out in the old shed. Our very own junk yard growing up! I think I remember Mom saying that she tried to make us baby clothes but they ended up being small enough to be barbie clothes instead :) Oh Mommy!! No-one else quite like her... except wait.. maybe YOU!!! Love ya
I agree with Shannon - Go Scot!!!! He can do it. In the mean time Jess, you can borrow mine if you want.... :) Keep me posted on how it goes - I don't think I like aprons as much as you do, but they are intriguing to me. Plus, I stain so many clothes!!! (Thank God for Stain stick, Clorox 2 and Spray N Wash) :) So I love the function of aprons!!
Have fun!!

Jess,
True story... I have never been an apron fan. In fact I had to force myself to wear one at work so I would quit ruining all of my clothes with bleach. But, just tonight I was cooking dinner and splattered those annoying, so little you can hardly see them, splats of spaghetti sauce all over my white t-shirt. My first thought was oh well, I will bleach it and directly following that I thought, I should try to find a cool vintage apron to wear when I cook so I don't do this again. How ironic.
