Big Sister Aubree
Aubree loves her baby brother, she gives very gentle kisses.
She calls him "Ma-chew"
It's A Boy - Matthew Bennett Griese
January 25, 2007
7:24pm
7 pounds, 10 ounces
20 inches
After a day of induced labor that looked as if nothing was going to happen on Thursday - things started to really kick in late afternoon (around 4:30pm). They broke my water around 5:50pm and it was time to push after 7:00pm. From the time the doctor said it was okay to push, to the time Matthew was delivered - about 8 minutes passed (I think maybe 3 pushes?).
His poor little face was all purple and bruised from being "blasted" out. But he and Mama made it through just fine and it was VERY exciting to hear Scot say "It's a BOY!"

Come out baby!
Aubree has been giving hugs to my belly (baby) for a while now and she will say "Hi baby" and give kisses. She knows to point to Mommy's belly when asked "where's the baby?" And the latest phrase we've taught her to say to the belly is "Baby, come out!" And she says it very emphatically!
With only a couple days left of being pregnant, we wanted to get at least a couple pictures of "Big Mama" (as I've named myself). This time around we really haven't taken any pictures on purpose just for the sake of documenting my growing belly. These ones are the most exciting anyway - I'm about as big as I'm gonna get :)

Big sister loving on baby already.
Looks like a baby by the end of this week...
Today was my last official regularly scheduled pre-baby doctor appt.
I am currently 2cm dilated and 50% effaced (not much, but a decent start). The doctor went ahead and stripped my membranes to maybe get things going on their own and then we made the decision to admit me this Thursday morning (I'll be 39 weeks) and begin induction.
I'm very excited to meet this little baby! I'm praying for a safe and relatively quick delivery.
Not much time left at all now....I better get my hospital bag packed!

Aubree Celebrates Her 2nd Birthday
Hooray for birthdays! Aubree had such a wonderful birthday weekend. On Friday (her actual b-day) she got to spend the day playing with her buddy, David. We had lunch together and then took the kids to the play area at the mall. Then she had dinner at McDonald's and got to play in the play area there with her cousins. On Saturday evening she got a party with the Sayers family and on Sunday evening she celebrated with the Griese's. When Monday came - we were partied out.
Aubree loved the Dora party favors at Grandma Sayers house.
Aubree loved the M&M's off of this cake!
Ooo a Sesame Street video......
Mom is proud of this cake - I made it! My first attempt at a layered cake and decorating. Aubree liked it because it was a star and had fruit snacks on it.

Happy Birthday to you!!
Baby doll supplies....they will come in especially handy in a few weeks. When Mommy is caring for the new baby Aubree can take care of her baby doll!

Happy Birthday to you!!

Every gift Aubree received was wonderful and she plays with everything - and everything gets sprawled all over our living room floor daily. She is a very blessed little girl to have family & friends who love her so. Scot & I are very blessed to have her in our lives. Crazy to think it has been 2 years since she was born. EVERYTHING changed that day...changed to the absolute BEST and I can never imagine life any other way. Thank you Lord for giving us Aubree and we are so excited to meet the next little person on the way!
